Leal began his 15th season with the program in 2026, continuing his extended involvement with the Bulldogs.

Leal’s journey with Fresno State men’s basketball started as a student manager and evolved through roles as a graduate assistant and special assistant before his tenure as director. His leadership was instrumental during the Bulldogs’ 2016 Mountain West Tournament championship and their NCAA Tournament run.

In his expanded role, Leal supports head coach Vance Walberg by managing team travel and logistics, budgeting, recruiting administration, community outreach, and student-athlete welfare. He also aids coaching staff with scouting, game preparation, player development, and ensures adherence to NCAA and university regulations.

Leal’s academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a coaching emphasis (2015) and a master’s degree in sport psychology (2017), both earned at Fresno State.
