De Anza College Men's Soccer started its 2026 Coast Conference schedule with a 3-3 tie at City College of San Francisco, led by sophomore defender Owen Gibbs with two goals.

De Anza College Men’s Soccer began its Coast Conference schedule with a 3-3 tie against City College of San Francisco on September 25, 2026. The Mountain Lions have been tested in several close contests early in the season as they continue their development during conference play.

Before entering Coast Conference competition, De Anza posted a 2-0 win over American River, marking their first shutout of the season. The non-conference schedule also included a 3-3 draw at Lake Tahoe Community College, a 3-1 loss to Feather River, and a 2-2 draw against Modesto Junior College. These results reflect a young squad gaining valuable experience.

Sophomore defender Owen Gibbs has been a key contributor, starting all six matches and leading the team with two goals and four points. Gibbs has maintained a .400 shooting percentage, converting two of five shot attempts, adding a scoring threat from the defensive position.

Other offensive contributions have come from Amar Dhami, who has tallied one goal and one assist, including the team’s game-winning goal this season. Freshman Saleem Hamzawi leads the team with seven shots and has scored one goal, while Jacob Guillebeaux and Jordan Perez have also added goals to the balanced offense.

In goal, team captain Carlos Baltazar has started five matches, making 16 saves and recording the team’s shutout win. Fellow captain Adael Correa has started once, recording two saves in a draw. Together, the goalkeepers have made 19 saves through the early part of the season.

De Anza College Men’s Soccer looks to build on these competitive performances and combine emerging offensive talent with veteran leadership as it moves forward in the Coast Conference schedule.

CSB Take

De Anza College Men’s Soccer’s early season has featured tight matches that highlight the team’s growth and competitive potential.
