California Baptist University men’s soccer will continue its inaugural Pac-12 Conference season on Sunday, October 4, 2026, with a road match against the Cal Poly Mustangs in San Luis Obispo, California.
The Lancers enter the game riding a five-match win streak, the longest in the program’s Division I era, outscoring opponents 10-2 during that stretch. Their recent offensive surge included a 5-2 victory over Gonzaga on September 30, marking their highest scoring output against a Division I opponent since 2021.
Freshman forward Justin Ojo recorded his first career hat trick in the Gonzaga match, becoming the third player in California Baptist’s Division I era to achieve this milestone. Ojo scored all three goals within 30 minutes, including two first-half goals less than seven minutes apart. Striker Blake D’Agostino, who is tied for the Pac-12 lead with six goals on the season, and defender Adam Marsli, who scored his first collegiate goal, also contributed to the win.
California Baptist and Cal Poly have met twice previously, with the series tied at 1-1. The Lancers won the most recent meeting 2-0 last season with goals from D’Agostino and midfielder Drew Hardin. Cal Poly holds a 4-2-4 record through ten matches and began their Pac-12 slate with a 1-1 draw against UC San Diego. The Mustangs are ranked No. 128 in the latest NCAA RPI, while California Baptist is ranked No. 76.
Colin Pearce leads Cal Poly with four goals and four assists. Their goalkeeper, Mathew Guerra, has a .684 save percentage. California Baptist’s freshman goalkeeper Ulrik Stroem has started seven games with a .773 save percentage and had a five-match shutout streak prior to the Gonzaga game.
The match is scheduled for 3 p.m. and can be streamed live on ESPN+. California Baptist will conclude their current three-match road trip with this game before returning home to face No. 21 Oregon State on Wednesday, October 7, in a nationally televised match on ESPNU.
CSB Take
California Baptist University men’s soccer is building strong momentum with a program-best five-match winning streak early in its first Pac-12 season. The upcoming match at Cal Poly offers a significant opportunity to extend that success against a conference opponent with a history against the Lancers. How the team performs in these key matchups will be decisive for establishing California Baptist’s presence within Pac-12 men’s soccer moving forward.
