How the game unfolded

California Baptist tied the match by winning the second set and led 20–16 in the third. CSUN recovered to take that set in extra points before winning the fourth comfortably. The result left the Lancers 3–14 overall and 0–6 in conference play.
CSB Take
The third-set response changed this match from an even contest into an opportunity for CSUN to close. The Matadors then followed the tight finish with a clearer fourth-set performance. California Baptist has to turn its mid-set leads into complete sets so those strong stretches produce a different result.
