The Stanford Cardinal lost 3–0 to the Louisville Cardinals in women’s volleyball on Oct. 11 at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena in Louisville, Kentucky. Stanford could not hold a late first-set lead before Louisville took control of the match. The Cardinal fell to 10–6 overall and 3–3 in ACC play.
Opening-set opportunity
Stanford used a 7–1 run to build a 16–11 advantage in the opening set. A Jordyn Harvey kill later put the Cardinal ahead 23–22, but Louisville won the final three points. The hosts took the second set 25–18 and built a commanding lead in the third.
Lizzy Andrew led Stanford with 11 kills and a .308 hitting percentage. Harvey and Julia Blyashov each added seven kills, while Blyashov and Spencer Etzler shared the team lead with 13 digs. Logan Parks finished with 26 assists and six digs, and Ella Andrews had four blocks.
CSB Take
The first set gave Stanford its clearest opportunity to change the match. Finishing that stretch would have rewarded a strong mid-set response and forced Louisville to chase. The Cardinal’s next step is to sustain that level when opponents make their closing runs.
