The Biola Eagles defeated the Jessup Warriors 1–0 in women’s soccer on Oct. 10 at Warrior Field in Rocklin. Ella Martin scored in the 42nd minute from a Mallory Palm assist. Biola improved to 7–3–2 overall and 4–0–1 in PacWest play.
Martin supplies the winner
Martin’s goal was her second of the season and stood as the match-winner. Biola finished with a 14–3 advantage in shots and a 4–2 edge in attempts on goal. Briley Phelps led the Eagles with six shots.
Sami Robinson and Laura Brennan each played one half in goal and made one save. Jessup could not convert either of its two shots on target. The Warriors fell to 1–7–2 overall and 1–2 in the conference.
CSB Take
Biola paired a timely finish with the defense needed to protect it. The Eagles generated more attacking opportunities even though the final margin stayed narrow. Jessup needs more sustained pressure to give itself additional chances in low-scoring conference matches.
