Roa scores, Lepe protects the lead
Roa scored her ninth goal of the season from a Sofia Reiswig assist. UC Merced held a 9–1 advantage in first-half shots and carried the lead into the break. The Bobcats then had to withstand a stronger Stanislaus State response.
Alicia Lepe made six saves to preserve the shutout, including a stop in the final minute. Aliah Avila led Stanislaus State with four shots and three on target. The Warriors fell to 6–4–2 overall and 5–3 in the conference.
CSB Take
UC Merced made its early control count and protected the result when the match’s pressure shifted. Roa supplied the finish, while Lepe handled the key closing saves. Stanislaus State improved after halftime but needed that sharper attacking play earlier to avoid chasing the match.
