The LA Galaxy called up five Ventura County FC players on short-term agreements Oct. 2 for the friendly against Cruz Azul. The group included goalkeeper Sebastian Conlon and forward Daniel Ittycheria. Jose Magaña, Brett Phan and Mason Vanney completed the selections.

The players and development pathway

The agreements were for the Oct. 4 match at Dignity Health Sports Park. Ittycheria received his first short-term agreement of the campaign. Conlon and Magaña each received their third call-up.

Conlon had recorded seven shutouts in 25 appearances for Ventura County at the time of the announcement. Ittycheria joined the affiliate after beginning the season with Vancouver Whitecaps 2. The selections connected several stages of the Galaxy’s academy and professional development program.

CSB Take

The call-ups provided another first-team opportunity for affiliate players. Conlon’s goalkeeping record and Ittycheria’s attacking background offered different options for the friendly. Continued exposure at that level can give the organization more evidence for future roster decisions.
