The Richmond Flying Squirrels will host Squirrel-O-Ween at CarMax Park on Oct. 30 from 5–7:30 p.m. The free Halloween event was announced Oct. 7 and will take place at the new ballpark for the first time.
The announcement and its context
Trick-or-treating booths will run around the stadium’s concourse. The event also includes pumpkin decorating, crafts and hayrides around the warning track.
Costume contests will recognize several categories, with winners announced at 7 p.m. Parking is free, while food and drinks will be available for purchase at selected concession stands.
CSB Take
The event extends the ballpark’s use beyond the baseball season. Families can attend without an admission charge and choose separately whether to purchase concessions.
