The San Diego Mojo announced April 28 that the team would not play in 2027 under its existing ownership plans and that April 30 would be its final home match.
The owners’ plan leaves the future unresolved
Owners Jerri-Ann and Gary Jacobs described a plan to use the 2027 season to develop a strategy for 2028 and beyond. Their statement also said the league wanted a different direction.
Major League Volleyball said it remained committed to San Diego and would seek potential new investors. The statement did not confirm a return season or a replacement ownership group.
CSB Take
The announcement separated the owners’ pause from any future league-led plan for San Diego. A return remained dependent on arrangements that had not been confirmed in that statement.
