Five players from California State University Northridge Athletics received All-Big West honors in men's soccer for the 2026 season, led by senior Jorge Solorzano's First Team selection.

California State University Northridge Athletics announced that five players from the CSUN Men’s Soccer team earned All-Big West Conference honors for the 2026 season. Senior midfielder Jorge Solorzano was named to the All-Big West First Team, marking his first selection to the first team after starting his collegiate career as the Big West Freshman of the Year in 2023.

Solorzano, a Palmdale, Calif. native, scored four goals and recorded six assists for 14 points during the season. One of his season highlights was scoring the deciding penalty kick goal in a 3-2 victory against UC San Diego on Senior Night at Matador Field.

Senior forward Kayvon Monfared from Anaheim Hills earned All-Big West Second Team recognition. He tallied nine goals, ranking third in the Big West, and led the Matadors with 20 points and 17 shots on goal. Monfared had multiple multi-goal matches, boosting CSUN’s total goals to lead the conference.

Sophomore defender Daniel Garcia of Huntington Beach received All-Big West Honorable Mention for the second consecutive year. He started 16 games, logging 1,352 minutes, and was a pivotal part of a defense that secured two shutouts.

Freshmen Dave-Ryan Tankou of Woodland Hills and Messiah Antwi of Valencia were named to the All-Big West Rookie Team. Tankou appeared in all 17 games, starting 16, contributing three goals and two assists following a 2025 injury. Antwi started all 16 games he played, recording one goal, three assists and serving as a primary option for attacking throw-ins.

Under head coach Terry Davila, the Matadors showcased a mix of experienced leadership and promising young talent throughout the 2026 campaign.
