The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 24–20 at Lincoln Financial Field on Oct. 4. Kyren Williams scored twice in the fourth quarter as Los Angeles erased a 20–10 deficit. The comeback moved the Rams to 2–2 after four games.
Defense keeps the comeback alive
Philadelphia held its 10-point lead into the final quarter and had a chance to make the gap larger. The Rams stopped a fourth-and-goal attempt from their two-yard line, keeping the game within reach. That defensive stand gave Matthew Stafford and the offense another opportunity to rally.
Williams finished the ensuing scoring drive with a four-yard touchdown run. An out-of-bounds kickoff then gave the Eagles favorable field position, but Los Angeles forced a punt. Stafford got the ball back with less than three minutes left and moved the Rams toward the winning score.
Williams and Young finish the job
Williams' seven-yard touchdown run put Los Angeles ahead with 1:10 remaining. Byron Young followed with two sacks on Philadelphia's final drive, helping end the Eagles' last chance. The Rams held Philadelphia scoreless in the second half after allowing 20 points before the break.
Williams finished with 80 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries. He also caught 10 passes for 67 yards, supplying another outlet for Stafford. Puka Nacua added nine catches for 125 yards and scored on a two-yard run in his return to the lineup.
CSB Take
The win showed how the Rams can recover when both sides of the ball contribute late. Their offense needed two touchdowns, and their defense supplied the stops that made those drives matter. Los Angeles still has to limit the earlier errors that forced it to chase the game, but its finish in Philadelphia offered a useful response.
