The Golden State Warriors beat the Los Angeles Lakers 124–98 on Oct. 6 in preseason play. Golden State scored 45 points in the opening quarter and reached halftime ahead 81–53. Los Angeles could not undo that first-half deficit.
The numbers behind the result
Yaxel Lendeborg led the Warriors with 17 points and nine rebounds. Stephen Curry and Brandin Podziemski each scored 16 points. Golden State finished with 32 assists and made 15 of its 35 three-point attempts.
Sandro Mamukelashvili scored 15 points for the Lakers, with Jaden Hardy adding 13 and Quentin Grimes finishing with 12. Los Angeles won the third quarter 22–15 but lost ground again in the fourth. The game followed the Lakers’ preseason opener in Sacramento the previous night.
CSB Take
Golden State’s first half supplied the most useful evidence: the offense generated points quickly and shared the work. For the Lakers, the review starts with the defensive possessions that allowed the game to get away before halftime. A preseason back-to-back provides room to evaluate different lineups, but the early scoring gap still gives Los Angeles a concrete area to improve.
