How the game unfolded
Artur Diaz and Harper Stewart each scored three goals against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Long Beach State led 7–0 after the first quarter and 11–3 at halftime. The Beach then carried that early control through the final two periods at Axelrood Pool.
Gabi Acosta and Corbin Stanley each scored five goals against Pomona-Pitzer. Long Beach State held a 6–1 halftime advantage before finishing the second win at Haldeman Pool. The Beach received scoring from different players across the two matches.
CSB Take
Long Beach State established its advantage early in both games and had enough offensive depth to maintain it. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Pomona-Pitzer each faced a deficit that made the remaining possessions more difficult. For the Beach, the useful next step is to keep that early control when the next opponent offers a tighter contest.
