San Diego Padres prospects Ty Harvey and Alex McCoy combined for five stolen bases as the Peoria Javelinas beat the Surprise Saguaros 10–4 on Oct. 9. Harvey stole three bases, and McCoy added two. Both also contributed to Peoria’s scoring.
How the game unfolded
Harvey went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI. McCoy finished 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Their work added baserunning pressure to the Javelinas’ offense.
Peoria scored three runs in the sixth inning and four in the seventh. That late scoring burst helped turn the game into a six-run win. The Javelinas finished with six hits while taking advantage of additional ways to create runs.
CSB Take
Harvey and McCoy made their time on base count through both movement and run production. The steals were useful because they came alongside hits, a walk and RBIs that helped the offense continue. For the Padres, this game provides a specific baserunning and hitting performance to follow during the remaining Fall League schedule.
