The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 2–1 in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series on Oct. 11. Brice Turang homered, and Luis Lara drove in the go-ahead run. Milwaukee took a 1–0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

How the game unfolded

Tarik Skubal struck out seven over five innings for Los Angeles. He allowed two runs on five hits and walked two. The Dodgers finished with seven hits but left nine runners on base.

Milwaukee’s relievers combined for 4⅔ scoreless innings after Jacob Misiorowski’s start. Los Angeles threatened in the ninth with a pair of two-out walks against Trevor Megill. Mookie Betts then flied to center to end the game.

CSB Take

The Dodgers kept the opener within reach but could not turn enough of their opportunities into runs. Skubal’s outing gave Los Angeles a chance, and the final threat showed how narrow the margin remained. The offensive response now needs to convert more of that traffic into scoring as the series continues.
