San Diego, Calif. – The Fresno State women’s soccer team dropped their final regular season road game to San Diego State, falling 4-1 at the SDSU Sports Deck on October 25, 2026.
Fresno State took an early lead when defender Kayla Robinson scored her first goal of the season at 4 minutes. Robinson finished a breakaway after receiving a chip pass from forward Aniston Renovato, putting the Bulldogs ahead 1-0.
San Diego State responded with four consecutive goals starting in the 29th minute. The Aztecs tied the match with a long-range shot, seized the lead seven minutes later on a headed goal, and then added two quick scores early in the second half to complete the comeback and secure the 4-1 victory.
Goalkeeper Jessie Reiss made eight saves but could not contain the Aztec attack. Midfielders Mariona Sene Corominas and Miley Blough had opportunities to close the gap but saw their shots turned away by the opposing goalkeeper.
The loss dropped Fresno State to 1-14-3 overall and 0-6-1 in conference play. The Bulldogs will return home for their final game of the season on November 5, hosting Texas State at Bulldog Soccer Stadium with kickoff at 7 p.m. PT.
CSB Take
Fresno State’s early offensive spark from Kayla Robinson was not enough to slow down a resilient San Diego State team. The Bulldogs’ effort highlights areas for growth, particularly in defensive endurance and finishing chances. As they prepare for their season finale at home, Fresno State will aim to capitalize on opportunities and finish the 2026 campaign with improved results against Texas State.
