Mt. San Jacinto College men's football team fell 61-22 to No. 1 Riverside City College. Quarterback Julian Silva threw for a career-high 376 yards and three touchdowns, but five turnovers hampered the Eagles' efforts.

The Mt. San Jacinto College men’s football team suffered a 61-22 defeat to the top-ranked Riverside City College on Saturday night at HCN Bank Stadium. The Eagles fell behind 20-0 in the first quarter and were unable to overcome the early deficit despite a strong passing game.

Quarterback Julian Silva threw for a career-high 376 yards and three touchdowns, highlighting the team’s offensive efforts. Eight different players caught passes, with wide receivers Omari Wilcox and Kee-Esoul Pitchford each recording seven receptions. James Trevino had five catches for a team-leading 129 yards and a touchdown, while running back Davonte Cruze-Davis also scored on a touchdown reception.

Defensively, Ifeyani Onye and Andrew Nassar tied for the team lead with six tackles apiece. Onye also contributed two tackles for loss and a sack. Dawson Johnson added five tackles for the Eagles. However, turnovers proved costly as Mt. San Jacinto committed five miscues, including four interceptions and one fumble.

With the loss, Mt. San Jacinto’s record dropped to 2-6 overall and 0-5 in National Southern League play. Riverside City College improved to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the league. The Eagles will next travel to face San Diego Mesa College this Saturday at 6 p.m., then return home to Menifee for their final season game against Palomar College on November 7 at 6 p.m.

CSB Take

Despite the wide margin of defeat, Julian Silva’s career-best throwing performance and the distribution of receptions across the Eagles offense indicate potential for growth. The key challenge for Mt. San Jacinto remains ball security and tightening defensive play, especially against high-caliber opponents like Riverside City College. With two games left, the Eagles have the opportunity to correct these issues and build momentum for the future.
