Bay FC Women’s Soccer Team and PNC Bank Raise $25,000 for Bay Area Food Entrepreneurs Through 2026 ‘Goals for Grants’ Program

Bay FC women's soccer team and PNC Bank raised $25,000 through the 2026 'Goals for Grants' program to support La Cocina and Bay Area food entrepreneurs. This marks the third year Bay FC donated $1,000 per goal scored, advancing economic equity for women and minorities in the region.

Bay FC women’s soccer team and founding partner PNC Bank announced the results of their 2026 “Goals for Grants” program on November 2, 2026. As part of their B Empowered initiative presented by PNC Bank, the effort generated $25,000 to support La Cocina, a San Francisco nonprofit that assists Bay Area food entrepreneurs.

For the third consecutive season, Bay FC committed to donating $1,000 for each goal scored in 2026, to a maximum contribution of $25,000. The B Empowered initiative focuses on empowering women financial decision-makers through grants, financial education, and mentorship.

La Cocina provides affordable commercial kitchen space, tailored training, and business resources, promoting equity for women, immigrants, and people of color. Megan Schoettmer, PNC regional president for Northern California, underscored that entrepreneurs need access to financial knowledge, capital, and trusted partners to succeed. Bay FC Chief External Affairs Officer Lisa Goodwin-Scharff emphasized that the partnership creates lasting opportunities beyond matchday by supporting local entrepreneurs.
