The California Baptist University men’s basketball team will play its first road game of the 2026-27 season on November 6 at Oregon State University’s Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Oregon. This game comes after a 71-63 loss to North Florida at home on November 3, which ended the Lancers’ 19-game home winning streak at the Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler Events Center.
In the season opener, sophomore guard Jordan Muller led California Baptist with 15 points, while senior guard Terry Coner Jr., making his first appearance for the Lancers, added 13 points. Forward Rene D’Amelio contributed a team-high six rebounds. The loss also marked the official debut of head coach Kyle Getter, who was named the second head coach of the Lancers’ Division I era in April 2026.
Only two players who saw action in the opener were part of the previous season’s Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championship team. Muller is the only returning player with prior experience playing at Oregon State’s Gill Coliseum, where California Baptist previously defeated the Beavers 75-69.
Oregon State enters the contest with a 1-0 record after an impressive 102-61 victory over Weber State. The Beavers were led by Daniel Freitag, who scored 23 points and made all 12 of his free throws. Like California Baptist, Oregon State has a new head coach this season, Justin Joyner, who retained only one player, Josiah Lake II, from the previous roster. Lake scored seven points against California Baptist last season.
The game on November 6 is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and will be streamed live and free on the Pac-12 Conference’s YouTube channel. After this road game, the Lancers will return home for a three-game homestand starting with a game against Chicago State on November 11.
CSB Take
This upcoming game at Oregon State represents a significant early challenge for California Baptist as it adjusts to new leadership and roster changes. The Lancers must respond well following their first home loss in nearly two years. Both programs are undergoing transitions under first-year head coaches, making this game a key indicator of each team’s development. How California Baptist performs on the road will be critical as it sets the tone for the coming Western Athletic Conference schedule.
