Anaheim Ducks Sign Center Tim Washe to Four-Year NHL Contract Extension

The Anaheim Ducks signed center Tim Washe to a four-year contract extension through the 2030-31 NHL season after his impressive rookie performances and leadership at Western Michigan University.

The Anaheim Ducks signed center Tim Washe to a four-year contract extension starting with the 2027-28 NHL season through the 2030-31 campaign, the team announced on September 19, 2026.

Washe, 25, has played 41 NHL games with the Ducks, recording five points (two goals, three assists) and 14 penalty minutes. In the 2025-26 regular season, he appeared in 39 games, scored five points, and ranked second among NHL rookies with a 58.0 percent faceoff win rate while leading Anaheim in faceoffs won (225 of 388 attempts).

He scored his first NHL goal and point on January 16, 2026, against the Los Angeles Kings. Washe made his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut in 2026, playing 12 postseason games and collecting one assist.

Washe began that season with the San Diego Gulls of the AHL, scoring 27 points in 36 games and earning a selection to the 2026 AHL All-Star Classic. He signed a one-year entry-level contract with the Ducks on April 14, 2025, after a four-year collegiate career at Western Michigan University.

As captain of Western Michigan, Washe led the team to its first NCAA national championship in 2025, contributing two assists in the title game and earning All-Tournament Team honors. He was named the NCHC Defensive Forward of the Year and led the NCAA with a 63.1 percent faceoff win percentage during his senior season. Washe set a program record with eight game-winning goals that season.

From Clarkston, Michigan, Washe played a program-record 171 games at Western Michigan, finishing with 74 points and a plus-19 rating. He led the NCHC in faceoff win percentage for three consecutive seasons.

CSB Take

The Anaheim Ducks have demonstrated strong faith in Tim Washe by committing to a four-year extension, underscoring his defensive strengths and elite faceoff ability. His progression from collegiate champion and dominant faceoff specialist to a reliable NHL center makes him a valuable asset for the Ducks’ forward depth. This long-term deal stabilizes the center position and positions Washe as an integral part of the team’s core moving forward.
