Bay FC transferred forward Racheal Kundananji to the Chicago Stars for $700,000, the clubs announced Thursday, Oct. 8. Chicago acquired her through the 2027 NWSL season. The forward is due to join the Stars after international duty with Zambia.
The terms and roster impact
Kundananji was part of Bay FC’s inaugural roster. She leaves with a club-leading 12 goals in 63 regular-season appearances. Chicago also credited her with 11 assists during that period.
The Stars said Kundananji will occupy an international roster spot. She is their first addition under chief soccer officer Vlatko Andonovski. The move changes Bay FC’s attacking options for the final stretch of the season.
CSB Take
Bay FC is losing an established contributor from its original squad. Replacing her scoring and chance creation will require adjustments across the remaining attacking group. The transfer fee gives the club a concrete return as it reshapes the roster.
