Bay FC Women Honor Latino Heritage Month with Festive Match and Community Support

Bay FC Women honored Latino Heritage Month with a special match against Orlando Pride featuring live Latin jazz, traditional dance, a charity tee by Vanessa 1cAgana1d Espinoza, and community activities in 2026.

Bay FC Women celebrated Latino Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, 2026, culminating in a Latino Heritage Match against Orlando Pride on September 27. The event showcased Latin American and Hispanic cultures with a variety of activities intended to engage the community and honor heritage.

Before kickoff, fans attended the “Plaza del Bay FC” FanFest, which featured a live performance by the Mambole9o Latin jazz band with singers Ysenia Martinez and Citlali. Participants created friendship bracelets embellished with Latino Heritage charms, enjoyed cultural games, and sampled offerings from food trucks. Martinez also performed the national anthem to open the match.

Attendees received custom Lucha Libre masks inspired by the traditional Mexican wrestling style. At halftime, Grupo Folklf3rico Los Laureles, a San Jose-based dance academy established in 2007, performed traditional Mexican dances, delivering an engaging and memorable presentation.

The celebration included the release of a Latino Heritage Month tee designed by Vanessa 1cAgana1d Espinoza, a mural, graffiti, and contemporary street artist. All net proceeds from tee sales were donated to the San Francisco Latino Task Force, a coalition dedicated to advancing equity, health, and economic opportunity for Latino, Black, Pacific Islander, and other underserved communities in San Francisco.

In the lead-up to the event, Argentine Bay FC Women players defender Aldana Cometti and forward Agostina Holzheier assisted teammates in learning and correctly pronouncing Spanish phrases to deepen cultural appreciation and team connection.
