Cal Poly Mustang Athletics Launches The Stampede to Support Over 550 NCAA Division I Student-Athletes

Cal Poly Mustang Athletics has launched The Stampede, a philanthropic giving program uniting alumni, parents, fans and community to support over 550 NCAA Division I student-athletes in 22 programs.

Cal Poly Mustang Athletics announced the launch of The Stampede, its official philanthropic giving program, on September 17, 2026. This initiative unites alumni, parents, fans and community members in supporting more than 550 student-athletes across Cal Poly’s 22 NCAA Division I programs.

The Stampede focuses donor support on vital areas including academic support, nutrition, sports medicine, strength and conditioning, mental health resources, team travel, facility improvements and athletic scholarships. It replaces the former Stampede Club by shifting emphasis away from tickets and hospitality to philanthropic priorities that strengthen the entire Mustang Athletics program.

Director of Athletics Carter Henderson highlighted the significance of The Stampede as a means for the Cal Poly community to invest in student-athletes. Contributors to The Stampede become members with access to exclusive communications, member-only events, behind-the-scenes experiences and select game-day hospitality, while season tickets remain available through the Cal Poly Ticket Office.

CSB Take

The Stampede marks a strategic consolidation of philanthropic efforts within Cal Poly Mustang Athletics. By providing a unified platform for charitable giving that targets comprehensive student-athlete needs, the program aims to enhance both competitive success and holistic development. This unified effort will likely strengthen community engagement and sustain resources that support student-athletes’ success at the NCAA Division I level across all 22 programs.
