California State University Northridge Athletics has upgraded its Sports Medicine Clinic with new vinyl flooring and installed an OxeFit XP1 rehabilitation system to enhance the care and recovery environment for CSUN Matadors student-athletes. These improvements aim to improve cleanliness, infection control, and rehabilitation capabilities within the clinic.
The clinic’s new vinyl flooring provides a durable and easier-to-maintain surface, improving hygiene and creating a professional setting conducive to athlete recovery. This upgrade supports ongoing infection-control efforts and promotes a welcoming atmosphere for student-athletes during rehabilitation.
The OxeFit XP1 rehabilitation system adds advanced functionality to support athletes throughout multiple recovery stages with adjustable resistance and controlled loading. It enables progression from therapeutic exercises to functional strength and sport-specific training, while offering objective performance data for staff to monitor progress and make informed return-to-play decisions.
Steve Grech, CSUN Associate Athletics Director for Health & Wellness and Head Athletic Trainer, stated, “These improvements reflect our ongoing commitment to providing student-athletes with a high-quality healthcare environment and the resources necessary to support their recovery. By investing in our clinical spaces and rehabilitation technology, we’re strengthening our ability to deliver comprehensive care and help student-athletes progress safely from injury rehabilitation to a successful return to competition.”
The upgrades also facilitate enhanced collaboration between the Sports Medicine and Sports Performance departments at CSUN, bolstering injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement strategies. These enhancements exemplify CSUN Athletics’ continued investment in facilities, technology, and resources dedicated to student-athlete health and wellness.
