College of San Mateo defeated Modesto Junior College 45–16 in football Sept. 19. The teams finished with a 29-point margin after four quarters.

San Mateo led 35–9 at halftime. It scored 21 points in the opening quarter and added 14 in the second, while Modesto totaled 9 before the break.
