Simon Tassy’s first professional goal held up as the winner as the Bakersfield Condors beat the Calgary Wranglers 5–4 on Oct. 11. Quinn Hutson scored twice for Bakersfield. The Condors split the weekend series in Calgary and improved to 2–2–0.

How the game unfolded

Daniel D’Amato and Aku Raty scored in the first period to give Bakersfield a 2–1 lead. Calgary answered with two quick second-period goals before Hutson scored twice to move the Condors ahead again. Hutson’s second goal came on the power play.

Tassy scored shorthanded at 3:57 of the third period, extending Bakersfield’s lead to 5–3. Calgary cut the gap later in the period but could not find another equalizer. The defensive pairing of Damien Carfagna and Tomas Cibulka combined for three assists for the Condors.

CSB Take

Bakersfield answered Calgary’s scoring run with its own response and then found a valuable goal while killing a penalty. That gave the Condors enough room to survive the final push. The defensive review still matters, but the offense showed it could recover when a road game changed direction.
