Aku Raty scored on a late breakaway as the Bakersfield Condors defeated the Henderson Silver Knights 3–1 on Oct. 4. The win gave Bakersfield a split of its season-opening series. Quinn Hutson and Tucker Robertson each recorded a goal and an assist.
How the game unfolded
Hutson opened the scoring with a power-play goal two seconds before the end of the first period. Raty later broke the tie with just over five minutes remaining in regulation. Robertson added an empty-net goal to finish the result.
Matt Tomkins stopped 26 of Henderson’s 27 shots for his first win of the season. The result left both teams 1–1–0 after their opening weekend. Bakersfield received scoring from three different forwards rather than depending on a single finish.
CSB Take
Tomkins kept the game manageable until Raty converted the chance that changed the score. The Condors then completed the final step by protecting their lead and scoring into the empty net. Those late-game decisions are a useful starting point as Bakersfield builds its early-season rhythm.
