Alston scores, Ortiz holds the lead

Alston finished a Raylene Alcaraz pass with a shot toward the far post. It was her second goal of the season. San Bernardino led 11–2 in shots during the opening half but carried only the one-goal advantage into the break.

Fresno Pacific created more pressure after halftime and placed four second-half shots on target. Bella Ortiz stopped all four to record her seventh shutout of the season. The Coyotes finished with a 16–8 advantage in total shots.

CSB Take

San Bernardino made its first-half control count and then relied on Ortiz to protect the margin. Fresno Pacific’s improved second half kept the result close without producing an equalizer. The Sunbirds need to bring that attacking pressure earlier and finish more of their best chances.
