Fresno, CA – Dean Livingston delivered an outstanding pitching performance as the Visalia Rawhide defeated the Fresno Grizzlies 4-1 on August 8, 2026, at Chukchansi Park. Livingston pitched five innings, allowing just four hits and one run while striking out three and walking none to earn his third win of the season.
Livingston was dominant through the first four innings, facing the minimum and retiring 11 consecutive batters. His effective outing lowered his ERA to 3.58 in 11 starts this season. The Rawhide bullpen supported Livingston’s effort with Raul Garayzar providing three scoreless innings, striking out four and allowing two hits. Julien Hernandez closed the game with a clean ninth inning for his first save of the season.
Visalia took the lead in the third inning when Yerald Nin doubled and stole third base. Following an error by Fresno’s second baseman on a ground ball by Ivan Luciano, Nin scored. Shortly after, Pedro Blanco launched a two-run homer to right field, measuring 426 feet and clearing the team bus, marking his 14th home run of the season—the most by a Rawhide player since 2023.
Fresno’s only run came in the fifth on a fielder’s choice. Visalia added an insurance run in the eighth inning after Eliesbert Alejos was hit by a pitch and Adriel Radney recorded a key single that scored the run on a double play. Nin, Blanco, and Radney each finished with two hits to lead the offense.
The Rawhide now lead the series 3-2 and can secure their first-ever series win at Chukchansi Park with a victory in the final game scheduled for August 9 at 5:05 PM.
CSB Take
Dean Livingston’s dominant pitching display was critical in the Visalia Rawhide’s strong road performance and continued series lead against the Fresno Grizzlies. His ability to limit baserunners and pitch efficiently sets a strong tone for the Rawhide’s staff. Combined with timely hitting from Pedro Blanco and the bullpen’s effective relief, Visalia is poised to capture a milestone series win on the road, a positive momentum builder as they approach their next home series.
