Golden City FC’s launch timeline faced questions in a May 8, 2026 report examining progress on its Kezar Stadium project.
A proposed start still needs confirmed milestones
A club spokesperson told SFGATE that work was expected to begin in fall 2026. The report did not establish a completed renovation or a confirmed first league match.
The city’s 2025 legislation had provided a 15-year permit framework and a $10 million improvement commitment.
CSB Take
The May report should be read as a dated project update. A construction forecast does not confirm that work has begun or that the proposed club has a finalized debut date.
