Jayden Russotti and AJ Loustau, key players for the Napa Valley College men’s basketball team last season, have transferred to four-year colleges to continue their basketball careers, head coach Steve Ball announced on September 14, 2026.
Russotti, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard, and Loustau, a 6-foot-8 point forward, were instrumental in leading Napa Valley College to its first playoff appearance under Ball. Their performance helped the team reach the California Community College Athletic Association-Northern California Regionals last year.
During the Bay Valley Conference season, the team surged late by winning its final two games, finishing sixth in the conference standings. This marked a significant achievement for the program, underscoring the impact of both players on the team’s success.
CSB Take
The transfers of Jayden Russotti and AJ Loustau represent a notable shift for Napa Valley College men’s basketball, as the program loses two foundational talents responsible for a historic playoff run. Their progression to four-year colleges highlights their personal development and the program’s ability to develop competitive players. Going forward, Napa Valley College will need to cultivate new leaders to maintain its competitiveness within the California Community College Athletic Association and continue the program’s positive trajectory.
