How the match unfolded

Neither side scored before halftime. Monterey Bay generated second-half chances while continuing to defend the tie. Omari Glasgow forced a save from Charleston goalkeeper Daniel Kuzemka.

Jeremy Kelly delivered the corner that led to the decisive goal. Sánchez redirected the ball from close range to put Charleston ahead. Monterey Bay pushed for an equalizer but could not find one.

CSB Take

A late set piece separated the teams after a close contest. Monterey Bay’s defensive work kept the result open until that moment. Greater precision at either end would give the club more ways to influence similarly narrow matches.
