Napa Valley College Women’s Soccer Defeats Yuba College-Marysville 7-3 in Heated Nonconference Match

Napa Valley College women's soccer defeated Yuba College-Marysville 7-3 in hot weather, led by Peyton Troxil's four goals, improving to 4-1-1 overall.

The Napa Valley College women’s soccer team defeated Yuba College-Marysville 7-3 in a nonconference game played Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Napa Valley College amidst temperatures exceeding 90 degrees.

Peyton Troxil led Napa Valley’s offense with four goals, while Ellieana Vazquez Zimerman added two more. The Storm took a 4-2 lead into halftime and held their advantage to extend their home unbeaten streak to 3-0-1 for the season.

Head coach Mark Corbett noted the tough weather conditions and the team’s extra energy due to having only one game scheduled that week. “It was a hot one, for sure,” Corbett said. “For us, it was one of those days where everything we hit early went flying in the back of the net, which is quite rare when that happens.”

He added, “With just having the one game this week, there was a little bit of extra energy and extra fight. With the opportunity of only one game, they wanted to get going, putting everything in, rather than trying to get through two games this week.”

The win improved Napa Valley’s overall record to 4-1-1 while their Bay Valley Conference record stands at 0-1.
