The Napa Valley College women’s volleyball team remains in search of its first victory in the 2026 season following a 3-0 defeat at home to Yuba College-Marysville in a Bay Valley Conference match. The Storm were swept in straight sets, losing 25-9, 25-10, 25-11, marking their ninth consecutive loss without a win.
Freshman libero Millee Holguin, from Linden in San Joaquin County, has taken on a leadership role, encouraging her teammates to focus on steady daily improvement. “One percent better every day,” Holguin said, highlighting the importance of consistent progress and a positive mindset during practices and games.
While the team has limited experience, Holguin sees encouraging signs of growth and development. “We don’t have much experience, but I feel like so far, we’re going up and not down, and that’s a good thing,” she stated. Despite the challenges faced, the team remains committed to improving as the season continues.
