Visalia, CA – In just his third professional game, Nathan Hall of the Visalia Rawhide recorded three hits, including a 415-foot home run, and made a spectacular over-the-shoulder catch in center field during a 9-2 loss to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on August 21, 2026, at Valley Strong Ballpark.
The Rawhide fell behind early as the Quakes scored runs in both the first and fourth innings. Visalia responded in the sixth inning with three singles, highlighted by an RBI single from Jake Duer that brought the team closer.
Rancho Cucamonga extended its lead with a home run in the eighth inning. Hall answered with a solo home run to cut the deficit to 7-2, but the Quakes put the game out of reach with a six-run ninth inning, featuring a solo homer, a two-RBI single, and a three-run home run.
On the mound, Raul Garayzar provided strong relief for Visalia, pitching 4.1 innings while allowing one run and three hits and striking out five batters. Juan Ledezma also contributed two innings of relief, striking out two and allowing one run and one hit. Offensively, Carson Kerce added two hits and scored a run for the Rawhide.
The loss ended the Rawhide’s three-game winning streak, but Visalia still holds a 3-1 lead in the series. The series will continue with a game scheduled for August 22, 2026, at Valley Strong Ballpark, where actor Jay Chandrasekhar will meet fans and the team will play as the Central Valley Sir Loins for a promotional event.
CSB Take
Nathan Hall’s breakout performance demonstrates promising talent for the Visalia Rawhide as they aim to build momentum for the remainder of the season. Despite the loss, strong pitching outings from Raul Garayzar and Juan Ledezma kept the game within reach until late innings. Maintaining consistent offensive contributions and improving late-inning defense will be critical for Visalia to capitalize on their series lead and contend in the highly competitive Single-A landscape.
