The Rocket City Trash Pandas’ Oct. 8 season review highlighted the club’s first Southern League championship. Rocket City secured the title with a 3–1 win over the Biloxi Shuckers on Sept. 23 at Toyota Field.
The announcement and its context
Kenyon Yovan recorded the final five outs, finishing the clincher with a strikeout of Braylon Payne. The title capped a postseason run that followed a division race lasting through the regular-season finale.
The review also recalled an April 1 exhibition against Japan’s Toyota Red Cruisers. Rocket City won 6–3, with Tucker Flint homering twice before a crowd of 4,355.
CSB Take
The championship is the defining result, but the season included events beyond the league schedule. Rocket City’s review connected that international exhibition with the September finish that delivered its first title.
