MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary’s College of California has promoted Andrew Shebloski to assistant coach for the men’s baseball team ahead of the 2027 season, head coach Eric Valenzuela announced Sept. 16, 2026.
Shebloski, a Southern California native, played for the Saint Mary’s Gaels from 2017 to 2020 and was part of the 2017 and 2019 West Coast Conference tournament teams. He began coaching with the Gaels in 2025 after two seasons as an assistant coach at Willamette University.
Since joining the staff, Shebloski has been instrumental in shaping Saint Mary’s offensive identity and fostering player development. Under his guidance, the Gaels won consecutive WCC Tournament championships in 2025 and 2026, including NCAA Tournament victories against No. 8 Oregon State in 2025 and No. 1 UCLA in 2026. The team ranked among the top five in NCAA Division I in batting average, hits, and doubles in 2026.
“Shebloski has been a rising star on our coaching staff, and we could not be happier for him to get this opportunity and continue to build his coaching resume,” Valenzuela said. “He has taken a bigger role within our offensive identity, and we look forward to seeing him grow and evolve as a coach this season.”
Shebloski expressed enthusiasm about the promotion, stating, “I could not be more excited for this opportunity to continue to be a part of the Saint Mary’s baseball family. I am thankful to Coach Valenzuela for this chance, and I look forward to helping build a championship culture here in Moraga.”
For the 2027 season, Shebloski will work alongside new assistant coach Ari Adut, who joins the Gaels after coaching at Jacksonville State and will lead the team’s offense.
CSB Take
Andrew Shebloski’s elevation to assistant coach reflects Saint Mary’s College of California’s commitment to developing leadership from within its baseball program. His familiarity with the Gaels as a former player and his proven impact on the team’s offense position him to further contribute to their competitive success. As the program aims to sustain its strong presence in the West Coast Conference and NCAA tournaments, retaining and promoting coaches like Shebloski supports continuity and strengthens the team’s championship culture.
