San Diego State Aztecs Announce 2026-27 Swimming and Diving Schedule for Inaugural Pac-12 Season

San Diego State University announced its 2026-27 swimming and diving schedule, marking the program’s Pacific-12 inaugural season and pursuit of a sixth straight conference championship.

San Diego State University revealed the 2026-27 schedule for its coed swim and dive program, marking the team’s inaugural season competing as members of the Pac-12 Conference. Head coach Mike Shrader announced the slate on September 11, 2026, with the Aztecs pursuing their sixth consecutive conference championship.

The season opens September 18 at the University of San Diego with the annual pentathlon meet, followed by a return matchup at USD on October 2. Road competitions include a sprint meet at Pepperdine in Malibu on October 15 and the Fresno State Invitational October 16-17. November features the Rick Rowland Joust hosted by California Baptist and the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational, where the Aztecs will aim to defend their 2025 team title. Divers will participate in the inaugural Lumberjack Invitational at Northern Arizona University later that month.

The Aztecs’ home opener is set for December 18 against Cal State Bakersfield at the Aztec Aquaplex. January is the busiest month, hosting nine meets with seven at home. The schedule includes a quad meet with Alaska Fairbanks, Colorado College, New Mexico and Puget Sound, double duals against Pepperdine and Utah Tech (swimmers only), and meets against Fresno State, Nevada, UC Santa Barbara, Cal State East Bay, and San Diego. Divers will compete at the Bruin Invitational at UCLA and return to Flagstaff in late January for a second Lumberjack Invitational.

San Diego State will participate in the Pac-12 Championships February 24-27, 2027, at the University of Houston. After securing their fifth consecutive Mountain West title in 2026, the Aztecs enter their first Pac-12 season aiming to continue their championship success. Postseason includes the NCAA Zone E Championships in March at Northern Arizona University and the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships March 17-20 at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin.

The team returns 20 letterwinners for the 2026-27 season, including Alli Mann, Alyssa Schiller and Kaydence Bispo, who combined to earn 18 all-conference honors last year. This experienced core bolsters San Diego State’s efforts to compete at a high level in the Pac-12 Conference.

CSB Take

San Diego State’s announcement of its 2026-27 swimming and diving schedule highlights a critical transition as the Aztecs enter a highly competitive Pac-12 Conference season. The depth of the returning roster and the challenging schedule across multiple states prepare the team for the elevated level of competition they will face. How the Aztecs perform in their first Pac-12 season will be a key indicator of the program’s growth and sustained success in collegiate swimming and diving.
