The San Diego Stingrays won the women’s title at Pro Padel League’s Playa del Carmen event Sept. 27. Claudia Jensen and Verónica Virseda defeated Las Vegas’ Raquel Eugenio Barrera and Jimena Velasco 6–2, 6–4.
The results and schedule details
The victory kept Jensen and Virseda unbeaten together at 6–0 during the season. They had also won the women’s title at the New York event.
The league’s post-event update placed the Los Angeles Beat seventh in the season standings with 36 points. With one regular-season event remaining, seventh and eighth place would need the preliminary round to reach Miami’s main Finals draw.
CSB Take
San Diego’s women left with another title, while Los Angeles remained in a tight qualification race. The season standings and the separate women’s event trophy describe different achievements and should be read separately.
