USC wide receiver Trent Mosley was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Oct. 12. Mosley caught nine passes for 111 yards and a touchdown in the Trojans’ 31–23 win at Penn State. It was his first Big Ten weekly honor.

Mosley’s Penn State performance

Mosley gave USC an early lead with a 19-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. He finished with nine catches on 13 targets and 40 yards after the catch. The conference’s announcement credited him with leading all players in receptions during the game.

USC said Mosley had returned from an injury before the performance at Beaver Stadium. He joined Mark Bowman, Riley Wormley and Luke Wafle as Trojans to receive the Big Ten freshman award this season. The game was played in front of 114,419 fans at Beaver Stadium.

CSB Take

Mosley gave USC production across more than one key play. His touchdown established an early advantage, while his remaining catches helped make him a dependable option throughout the game. The next step is to keep that availability and execution steady as opponents adjust to the Trojans’ passing attack.
