The Anaheim Ducks signed left wing Cutter Gauthier to a six-year contract extension through the 2031-32 NHL season, securing the 22-year-old forward following a breakout 2025-26 season.
Gauthier led the Ducks in scoring during the 2025-26 regular season with 69 points, tallying 41 goals and 28 assists across 76 games. He also paced the team in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs, scoring 4 goals and adding 8 assists in 12 games. He led Anaheim not only in points and goals but also in game-winning goals (7), power-play goals (11), power-play points (19), and shots on goal (285). His 41 goals made him just the fourth player in franchise history to reach 40 goals in a season, joining Teemu Selanne, Paul Kariya and Corey Perry.
Nationally, Gauthier ranked 11th in goals and sixth in shots among NHL players during the season. His playoff performance included tying for the team lead in power-play goals and finishing second in assists, marking one of the most productive postseason showings for a Ducks player under age 23.
Acquired from Philadelphia in January 2024, Gauthier had an outstanding collegiate career at Boston College with 102 points in 73 games. He earned a spot on the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2024-25 after posting 44 points in 82 games. Internationally, he has represented Team USA and won gold at the 2025 World Championship and the 2024 World Junior Championship.
General Manager Pat Verbeek emphasized Gauthier’s importance to the team’s core, calling him “a pure goal-scoring talent that will continue progressing into an elite NHL player.” Gauthier expressed excitement about his commitment, stating, “This is a very exciting day for my family and me. I’m so pleased to be able to sign long term with the Ducks and be part of what I believe is a great future.”
