San Jose State Spartans players Jordi Tortell Daly and Isac Enriquez received Mountain West men’s soccer awards on Oct. 12. Tortell Daly was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Enriquez earned Freshman of the Week. Both scored in San Jose State’s 3–1 win over Air Force on Oct. 10.
Goals against Air Force
Tortell Daly scored twice, including the winning goal, for his first career two-goal match. One goal came on a header and the other on a shot from the top of the penalty area. He now has four goals this season and has recorded a point in four straight games.
Enriquez scored the opening goal and played all 90 minutes against Air Force. The freshman defender recorded three shots, including two on target. The awards were the first weekly conference honors for both players.
CSB Take
The Spartans received useful contributions from two different positions against Air Force. Tortell Daly supplied the finishing touch, while Enriquez added an early goal without leaving the back line short of minutes. Continuing that balance can help San Jose State build on the victory.
