Los Angeles Angels farmhand Jake Munroe homered, while Athletics prospect Cole Conn doubled in the Mesa Solar Sox’s 4–3 loss to the Salt River Rafters on Oct. 8. Munroe finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Conn went 1-for-5, scored a run and stole a base.
How the game unfolded
Angels pitcher Najer Victor worked a perfect inning and struck out two. Sam Tookoian also supplied a scoreless inning for Mesa. He allowed one hit and did not walk a batter.
The final score left Mesa one run short despite the individual contributions from both California organizations. Munroe’s home run accounted for one RBI. Conn added an extra-base hit and a successful stolen base to his Fall League game log.
CSB Take
The Angels received useful evidence from both a hitter and their pitchers in this close game. Conn also found ways to contribute beyond his single hit. Fall League evaluation benefits from those specific results, with the next appearance offering another chance to build on the work.
