Bay FC is set to open its new performance center on Treasure Island in less than three months, a major milestone for the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) expansion team. This new facility will provide the Bay FC women's soccer team exclusive resources that until now have been unavailable.
Founders Brandi Chastain, Aly Wagner, Danielle Slaton, and Leslie Osborne led an exclusive tour of the performance center, showcasing its features including a kitchen, gym, and lap pool. Currently, Bay FC shares practice space with San Jose State, making the new facility an important home base for the club.
Leslie Osborne, co-founder of Bay FC, expressed excitement about the development, stating, "Wow! Wowzers, just like the good ol' days." She added, "We never had anything close to this, but that's why we're doing this, that's why we're founders, that's why we wanted to build this because our players deserve more. These players are going to produce incredibly entertaining soccer with what we have here."
The center is scheduled to open in January and is expected to greatly enhance the team's training environment and overall performance.
CSB Take
The opening of Bay FC's Treasure Island performance center represents a significant step in establishing strong infrastructure and support for the club and its players. Having a dedicated facility underlines the team's commitment to advancing elite women's soccer in the Bay Area and throughout the NWSL. As Bay FC transitions from shared spaces to its own center, this investment should help attract and develop talent capable of competing at the highest levels while providing fans exciting soccer.
