The Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks men’s soccer team will open California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) conference play with two home matches at College Creek Field in Arcata, California. The Lumberjacks host the Menlo Oaks on September 18, 2026, at noon for their conference home opener. Two days later, on September 20 at 11 a.m., Humboldt will play Cal State East Bay as part of Youth Day festivities.
Coming into conference play, Humboldt finished their non-conference schedule with a 2-2 draw at Saint Martin’s September 12. Dominic Calero scored his first goal of the season in the 29th minute off assists from Edwin Monterrosa and Shota Lam. Seth Uson added the go-ahead goal in the 77th minute after a sequence created by Lam and Izaiah Grosveld, but Saint Martin’s tied the match in the 86th minute. Humboldt’s record stands at 1-2-3 after six non-conference games.
Menlo arrives with notable early-season wins over Colorado School of Mines and Jessup, including a recent 3-0 victory at Jessup. Humboldt and Menlo have already faced off three times at neutral site matches in Atherton during the season, but Friday marks their first meeting in 2026 on Humboldt’s home field. Cal State East Bay comes into the week with an 0-5-1 record but has scored two goals in each of their last two contests.
These two home games begin a stretch where Humboldt will play four of their next six matches at College Creek Field before traveling to Southern California for additional CCAA contests. Fans can watch both matches live on FloCollege, with live stats and tickets available through Cal Poly Humboldt athletics’ official platforms.
CSB Take
The Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks men’s soccer team embarks on a critical phase of their 2026 season with the start of conference play at home. Hosting four of six upcoming matches gives them a valuable chance to leverage home advantage in the competitive CCAA. Early offensive contributions by players such as Dominic Calero highlight potential, but the team must maintain steady performance to climb the conference standings against rivals like Menlo and Cal State East Bay.
