The California Baptist University women’s volleyball team will host the Utah Valley Wolverines on Friday, October 30, at 6:00 p.m. and the Sacramento State Hornets on Saturday, October 31, at 6:00 p.m. Both matches will take place at Van Dyne Gym in Riverside, California, with live broadcasts available on ESPN+.
The Lancers enter these games riding momentum from consecutive Big West Conference victories over the UC Riverside Highlanders, raising their ranking to tenth in the conference standings. This marks the first back-to-back win stretch for California Baptist this season.
The upcoming match against Utah Valley will be the 16th meeting between the two teams, with the Wolverines currently leading the series 8-7. Utah Valley claimed victory in the first 2026 meeting earlier this season with a reverse sweep over California Baptist in Orem.
California Baptist will then face Sacramento State, who occupy sixth place in the Big West standings with a 5-5 conference record. The Hornets swept the Lancers in their inaugural meeting on September 24 in Sacramento and have suffered three consecutive conference losses, including two to Utah Valley.
Freshman outside hitter Anaiya Campbell recently posted a career-best 24 kills against UC Riverside, tying program records for kills by a freshman and for a five-set match during the Division I era. Her performance earned her the Big West Rookie of the Week honor. Setter Maddie Brown achieved career highs with 51 assists in each of the two matches against UC Riverside, becoming the first Lancer since 2019 to exceed 50 assists in a single match, and was named Big West Setter of the Week.
