The San Diego Clippers acquired forward DeAndre Williams’ returning player rights from the Delaware Blue Coats on Sept. 24. The Clippers sent the returning rights to Max Abmas and Daniel Batcho to Delaware.
The confirmed details
Williams averaged 16.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 46 appearances for the Blue Coats last season. He started 35 games and shot 56% from the field.
The 6-foot-9 forward recorded 12 double-doubles. His season included 15 games with at least 20 points and a career-high 32-point performance against Westchester on March 4.
CSB Take
San Diego exchanged two returning-rights assets for a forward with recent scoring and rebounding production. The deal concerns G League rights and does not itself establish an NBA roster spot.
