San Diego Wave FC players Trinity Byars and Kennedy Wesley were selected for the United States squad facing Spain in October. The Wave announced the selections Sept. 29. Byars received her first senior national-team call-up.
The selections and series
Byars entered the window with 10 NWSL goals and three assists. Her 13 goal contributions led San Diego’s players at the time of the announcement. Wesley returned to the national-team group after making her senior debut in October 2025.
The selections were for a 26-player training camp roster. The series included matches scheduled for Oct. 10 in Washington, D.C., and Oct. 13 in Chester, Pennsylvania. Both players were also listed in San Diego’s subsequent international-window update.

The call-ups recognize contributions from both the attack and defense. Byars’ first senior selection is a milestone following her productive club season. Their international involvement adds another stage of competition before the Wave returns to league play.
