Nieto and Vargas lead the Gators
The women scored 83 points, finishing one point behind second-place Westmont. Nieto placed 10th in 22:16.5, improving on her time from the previous year. Arianna Hurtado finished 22nd, while Sara Geiszler and Julia Pioroda also placed in the top 30.
The men scored 112 points, seven behind third-place UC Merced. Vargas finished seventh in 25:12.5 for his third top-10 result of the season. Trevor Lam placed 36th, and Dominic Clima, Caleb Bouwens and Elijah Eisenbach completed the scoring group.
CSB Take
San Francisco State received a front-running contribution in both races and stayed close to the teams immediately ahead. The women’s one-point gap shows how much the final scoring positions mattered. The Gators can build on those individual results while seeking tighter scoring groups in their next meets.
